How to Sell on eBay Singapore

Trying something new like selling on eBay Singapore always sound difficult and time-consuming. And this is especially true for those who are not so net-savvy.

Thus we have come up with a simple step-by-step guide with vivid examples to help you sell on eBay Singapore at $0 cost in just 20 minutes!

To ensure the effectiveness of this guide , we recommend you complete the entire registration process while referring to this guide concurrently. For your convenience, ALL links found on this guide will open in a separate window when you click on them.

Before we start, please ensure you SATISFY the following requirements:

  • Have a valid debit or credit card
  • Have a local landline or mobile phone number

Next, it is ESSENTIAL to determine the cost of postage via SingPost:

Finally, the following are OPTIONAL but it will be great if you have them:

  • A PayPal account
  • 1-3 digital photos of the item that you intend to sell
    (Recommended size: Between 1,000-1,600 pixels on the longer side)

Step 1: Create an eBay Singapore Account (5 Mins)

Before you can sell on eBay SG, you must first register as an user by following the steps below:

a. On eBay Singapore‘s main page, click on the blue colour “register” link in the upper left-hand corner (next to the logo).

Register with eBay Singapore now (this will open in a new window).

b. Next on the registration page, complete your personal information. You may like to take note of the following pointers:

  • First Name & Surname – Your full name
  • Email address – Use an email address that you check frequently as alerts from eBay SG will be sent to this email account

c. After clicking the “Register“, an email with your username will be sent to the email address that you have provided.

d. Login to your email account, open the email and note down your username.

e. Login to eBay.com.sg with your username and password, and verify your email address.

Step 2: List Your Item for Sale on eBay Singapore (15 Mins)

a. Click on “Sell” on the upper right-hand corner of any page.

b. Click List an item.

c. Input 3-5 words about the item that you are selling. For example: tote bags and click the “Search icon“.

d. Select the most relevant category from the list of suggested categories, and click “Create a new listing“.

e. Select Condition: New with tags; New without tags; New with defects; or Pre-owned.

f. Provide your contact info, and Continue.

g. Title: Write a title that best describes what you are selling and use keywords that are relevant to the item. For example:

h. Complete Item Specifics.

i. Add a photo: Add the first 12 pictures for Free.

j. Item description (Optional): Provide a clear and accurate description of the item which includes Age, Brand, Condition, Features and Postage Details. For example:

This is a 1 month old Pink ABC Bag in excellent condition.

It is 100% authentic as it is purchased directly from ABC in the US. This bag is small thus perfect for a night out.

For Local Pickup: Self collect at Ang Mo Kio
For Mail: Please add SGD$x.xx for local mail & SGD$x.xx for local registered mail (Singapore Only)

k. Pricing: Select Auction (bidding involved, you select the winning price) and input “Starting bid“. For example: $0.99 usually yields the best result for bidding.

AND/OR Select Buy It Now (no bidding involved, buyer can purchase instantly at a set price) and input “Price“. For example: $15.00 is the price that you are willing to sell immediately.

l. Auction duration: If you can wait, select 7 or 10 days. Usually the longer the duration, the higher the price generated.

m. Complete Postage: Ship your item and/or Local pickup.

n. Change Listing preference if you wish to edit the Payment Options; Handling time; Country or region; or Returns.

o. Click List with displayed fees.

Step 3: Create an eBay Singapore Seller Account (5 Mins)

a. Login again using your username and password.

b. Verify phone number.

c. Sync your profiles.

d. Add a credit or debit card.

e. Submit registration info.

Congratulations! You’ve just listed your first item for sale on eBay Singapore!
