- Two 15-year-old boys arrested for drug offences.
Singapore’s Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB) made a big drug bust in August 2024, arresting both teens and adults.
Major Anti-drug Operation in Singapore
CNB caught many drug suspects in Singapore from 12 to 23 August 2024.
They arrested 113 people who might have broken drug laws.
Areas covered include Bukit Timah, Ghim Moh, Hougang, Jurong, Marsiling, Mountbatten, and Tampines.
The police found lots of drugs worth about S$1.54 million.
They seized 9.8kg of heroin, 3.3kg of ‘Ice’ (methamphetamine), and other drugs.
This big operation shows that Singapore still has problems with drugs.
Teens Involved in Drug Crime
During the anti-drug operation, CNB caught two Singaporean 15-year-old boys for drug crimes.
One boy was arrested for suspected drug abuse.
He was caught with a small amount of ‘Ice’.
The other boy was caught later for drug trafficking.
This shows that even young people in Singapore might be using or selling drugs.
According to CNB, Deputy Assistant Commissioner Saherly Bin Limat said, “This island-wide operation saw the arrest of a 15-year-old suspected drug trafficker.
This is a stark reminder to all, that we must not lower our attention on the teenage drug situation.”
Big Drug Seizures
On 13 August 2024, CNB caught a 45-year-old man with various drugs.
The next day, they arrested a 67-year-old man with lots of heroin.
This was the biggest single heroin catch in 2024.
Here’s what drugs were found with these two men:

CNB’s Warning About Drug Education
Saherly Bin Limat from CNB said parents must help teach kids about drugs.
He warned that kids might get wrong information about drugs if parents don’t teach them.
CNB thinks it’s very important to start teaching kids about drugs now, not later.
They want to stop young people from using drugs.
Singapore’s fight against drugs continues, with a focus on protecting youth and catching big drug dealers.
