Car-Free Adventures in Singapore
In a press release by LTA, Singapore is set to celebrate World Car-Free Day throughout September 2024.
The Land Transport Authority (LTA) and other agencies are planning many fun activities.
These events aim to show people the benefits of walking, cycling, and using public transport.
According to LTA, “WCFD supports the Sustainable Living pillar under Singapore Green Plan 2030 and promotes Singapore’s car-lite vision by creating greater public awareness about the benefits of walking, cycling and riding public transport as green and sustainable ways to travel.”
This effort is part of Singapore’s plan to be more eco-friendly and reduce car use.
Exciting Tours and Activities
LTA has planned two special tours for the public.
One tour will take people to the Singapore Mobility Gallery and Ulu Pandan Bus Depot.
The other tour will show how LTA is making walking and cycling better in Singapore.
People can sign up for these World Car-Free Day tours starting from 22 August 2024.
