  • Ministry of Manpower (MOM) arrested 27 people for employment-related offences
  • Took place from 16 to 17 May 2023
  • Shell companies used to inflate foreign worker quota

Got big news here lah. MOM catches 27 people for employment stuff, all illegal ones.

It happened from 16 to 17 May 2023, just two days.

They brought in 290 workers using those shell companies.

So, the story starts like this ah…

Island-Wide Raid, Catch all the Bad Guys

MOM raided 19 places, food stalls, residences, and an office sia.

Those people try to cheat the system; they put CPF for Singaporeans who never work for them.

So the companies can bring in more foreign workers. Damn cunning, hor?

But the MOM officers, damn on, no play-play.

They seized 80 digital stuff like phones, laptops and all.

They are still checking what these culprits did.

MOM Knows the Quota Tricks

These people add “phantom workers”, right? All Singaporeans.

But like that, they can bring in more foreign workers.

So like, the more “ghosts” you got, the more “friends” you can bring in.

Got one lady, Ms Jeanette Har, very high up MOM.

She said they take serious action against people trying to trick them.

Kena Fined, All Sorts of Trouble for the Offenders

Trying to cheat on work passes is not a small thing, ah boy.

People making false detail in work pass applications can be fined up to $20,000 or jailed for up to 2 years.

Errant employers will be banned from getting work passes too.

Foreign workers who kena caught also lagi kena big problem lah.

If you got news of people cheating on work passes, call MOM at 64385122, or email them at mom_fmmd@mom.gov.sg.

Employment-related offences not a joke ah, MOM takes it seriously.

So, make sure you also take it seriously not to cheat or support these tricks.
