On 29th May 2023, the government and Science Centre Singapore together launched this new thing, where all our children and youths can go and play but also learn about AI, VR, and all these high-tech stuffs.

Not just like studying in school one, but through fun and games!

So they can learn, but also have fun at the same time. Steady boh?

A Unique Experience

Got 8 zones there, each one showcasing a different tech concept.

Things like sensors, geospatial tech, biometrics, blockchain, AI, robotics, user experience, and AR/VR.

Wah! So many things to see and learn!

Then, in each zone, got these game interactives where the kids can play while also understand these technologies.

Like one riddle game to learn about blockchain.

And a drawing competition to understand how AI makes predictions.

Imagine ah, like you’re playing, but at the same time your brain is also soaking up all these knowledge like a sponge. Power or not?

Contribution from the Community

This thing is not just come out from nowhere one, okay?

It’s been in the works since 2022.

Government engaged different parts of the community to make sure this whole experience is meaningful and enriching.

Students, working adults, retirees all got involved.

Private companies also pitched in.

For example, this health tech company called Oura and a toy company called Mighty Jaxx.

They donated items like smart rings to track sleep and heart rate, and collectible figurines with blockchain-based digital certificates.

Wah, talk about tech-savvy!

More Excitement in the Future

Okay, you think it’s all here? No leh, got more coming up!

The government now working with Ngee Ann Polytechnic students to create educational resources for primary school kids.

They will also bring selected exhibits to the libraries, calling it Smart Nation PlayScape ‘Lite’.

And best part? This is a permanent exhibit at Science Centre Singapore.
